Explore the Japanese craft of origami within our introductory workshop session. There’ll be 2 professional tutors to demonstrate the folding techniques with crease pattern templates provided and the equipment to enable you to make your own series of origami and paper fold samples.
You will be working with paper suitable for folding and will come away from the session with a series of origami models. The workshop will include information about the history of origami, suitable papers for folding, traditional and contemporary paper folding techniques, as well as demonstrations and time for practice.
Cabinet of Curiosity Studio
Design duo Cabinet of Curiosity Studio are specialist in the paper arts using paper materials and techniques to make installations, exhibitions, costumes and illustrations for a diversity of commissions at a variety of scales. Caroline studied costume design and scenography for dance and Edmond is a qualified architect and an associate lecturer of Interior Design at Northumbria University. Their work has been shown across the UK and internationally in a variety of settings that include museums, theatres, libraries, heritage sites, outdoor festivals, arts venues and public spaces.
