Simon Conolly creates original sculpture in fired stoneware clay from his studio in South Shropshire, overlooking Wenlock Edge. Simon's frieze ‘Murmuration of Starlings II’ was selected for the ‘Wildlife Artist of the Year 2015′ exhibition held at The Mall Galleries, London in Summer 2015. Simon's work was also selected to be displayed in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition in 2012.
Simon's work is inspired by personal observation, his interest in the dynamics of creatures in groups, the British countryside and life in a rural community. He creates compositions of flocks of birds, shoals of fish and groups (and crowds) of people and works in frost resistant stoneware clay and glazed oak.
