Join Newcastle Film Club during the Ouseburn Festival for a fun, hands-on mobile phone filmmaking workshop at The Biscuit Factory.
This beginner-friendly session is designed for anyone curious about filmmaking, no experience needed. Together we’ll learn some simple filmmaking basics, head out into Ouseburn in small groups for a creative colour-themed filming challenge, then return to edit the footage together as a group.
Participants will explore storytelling, framing, movement, sound and collaborative filmmaking using only a mobile phone.
The finished film will be screened the following day as part of Newcastle Film Club’s day-long screening event at The Biscuit Factory.
This is a family-friendly class, open to all abilities. Snacks are provided but you may wish to bring your own. The Factory Kitchen at The Biscuit Factory will also be open to buy takeaway food and drink.
Participants should:
● Bring a smartphone with enough storage space and battery life
● Wear comfortable shoes for walking around Ouseburn
● Be happy to work collaboratively in small groups No previous filmmaking experience required.
