Part of the New Light Prize Exhibition 2020

Clare Edworthy was born and grew up in North Yorkshire. She has always been a keen artist, gaining an art scholarship to Rugby School and completing a five-year MA Fine Art degree at the University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College of Art. After her studies, she worked at an art consultancy for seven years in London before moving out to Surrey with her family.

Clare paints and draws whenever she can and enjoys experimenting with antique and recycled papers, collage, text and acrylics, trying to represent people in a fresh, unconventional way. She is a member of the Farnham Art Society and Surrey Artists Open Studios with whom she exhibits regularly.
