Part of the New Light Prize Exhibition 2020

Barry Charlton lives and works in Liverpool. He recieved his MA in Fine Art and BA Fine Art from the University of Wales. 

Working primarily in oil paint, his work plays with traditional conventions of portraiture. He has contributed to a variety of exhibitions across the UK, receiving accolades such as the Highly Commended award at The Nationwide Mercury Art Prize (2006).
