Floral Blooms embroidery with Jessica Grady

£60
11.00 - 15.00 Sat 9 May 2026

Join embroidery artist Jessica Grady to create your own stitched garden of colourful florals using mixed recycled threads, simple hand embroidery stitches and embellishments.

This class is suitable for all abilities, with no prior stitching experience necessary.

During the workshop Jessica will introduce you to the wonderful world of floral blooms and show you effective ways to use hand stitch to create texture and pattern on fabric to build up your petals, stamens and stems. As well as going through her favourite hand embroidery stitches to use, Jessica will also show her best tips and tricks for threading chunky threads, working with alternative thread ideas, colour palettes, composition ideas and adding embellishments to your stitches.

At the end of the workshop you will leave with the beginnings of your own unique floral bloom textile sample, which you can work into further, frame up or use as a patch to add flair to a bag or clothing item. This is a colourful and mindful stitch workshop that is all about enjoying the process, building your ideas and having fun!

Jessica Grady is an award winning embroidery artist and workshop facilitator from West Yorkshire. Her work is a colourful and creative exploration of hand stitch and mixed media. She utilises waste and recycled materials, which are transformed into exciting sustainable embellishments that are stitched onto fabric. Jessica’s work has been exhibited in the UK, Europe and Asia, and she shares her skills across the UK and beyond through workshops, community projects and lectures.
