An exploration of both linocut and monoprint techniques and a celebration of natural forms. This session is more about playing with shapes, colours and techniques than about accurately representing a flower or plant. You’ll produce a few prints, all different, by layering up shapes and colours, inspired by flowers and leaves. Experimentation will be encouraged!

Kate Miller is a printmaker working in linocut. She mainly uses the reduction technique, building up prints in layers from a single block of lino, working in very small editions. Based in Newcastle, her inspiration has always, and will always, come from being outside in the fresh air. Her work often depicts colourful, sweeping seascapes or rolling hills, with smaller prints highlighting details of specific flora and fauna.
