A Fleeting Presence brings together the quiet practice of landscape painting and wildlife printmaking; where observation becomes something softer, more intuitive, more immediate.
Paintings unfold in layers of colour, tracing shifting skies, open ground, moving water and the hush of distant horizons. Expressive, gestural brushstrokes in a summer palette of greens, yellows and blues, render the glare of sunshine. Field, river, hedgerow and coastline are captured in high season.
Alongside, monoprints reflect brief encounters with wildlife – not fixed portraits but impressions held lightly, as if remembered rather than seen. The spontaneity of the subjects, their characters, textures and earthly tones of fur and feather are conveyed in the softened lines of the hand made prints.
