Playing with Drypoint Printing Half Term Workshop
Wednesday 31 October
Time: 10.30am - 12pm
Location: The Biscuit Factory Gallery
Hosted by: Michelle Wood - Sea Tern Print
Join us for this family friendly printmaking workshop with experienced printmaker & art teacher Michelle Wood of Sea Tern Print. Participants will make their own prints to take home and one to one tuition, materials and use of printmaking equipment and a traditional printing press are all included within the workshop.
The session is inspired by this year’s Big Draw Festival theme of ‘play’. You can learn how to make your own printing plate using a simple drypoint technique. This involves drawing with a sharp pencil onto thin, shiny card. The card can be cut into all sorts of playful shapes. You can use colourful ink and printmaking rollers and even turn the wheel of a traditional, portable printing press to print your image onto paper and card. Then add to your design using rubber stamps and ink pads.
Please note: This workshop is best suited to children and families, and suitable for children age 5+. Children must be accompanied by an adult and a complimentary tea/coffee voucher, redeemable at the in-house Factory Kitchen Cafe is available for all participating adults.
