Fletcher Prentice’s work is shaped by his garden and the surrounding Hertfordshire landscape. The paintings consider the garden as an Arcadian realm, where wild nature and human cultivation exist in a careful, harmonious balance.
Fletcher is widely recognised for his vibrant, rich floral scenes, built from dense layers of intertwined foliage and animated by garden birds and drifting insects. His painterly approach, both loose and precise, conveys a sense of perpetual motion and quiet vitality.
