Buzzing with breweries, cool eateries, live music venues, artist studios and even a city farm - the Ouseburn is home to Newcastle’s quirky alternative creative scene and is steeped in industrial heritage.
Whether you’re a local, new to the city or just passing through - combine your love for craft beer with an afternoon walking around this cultural hotspot, guided by resident beer buffs, Donald and Tania Stewart.
The tour begins here at The Biscuit Factory where you can browse our art gallery and tuck into a spot of lunch in The Factory Kitchen cafe. Your ticket entitles you to any main course from our menu alongside a slice of cake and one of our specially branded craft beers, brewed down the road at Tyne Bank Brewery.
Next, enjoy a leisurely walk downhill into the heart of the Ouseburn where you’ll enjoy a variety of beers in four local pubs and breweries while exploring the valley’s rich industrial past.
The first stop is one of the oldest established pubs in the area, followed by two small independent breweries and their tap rooms, each with a unique character and many interesting beers to choose from.
Then it's off to the final stop, which boasts one of the best views and photo opportunities of the River Tyne and its iconic bridges.
After the tour, you are free to wander along Newcastle’s Quayside and discover what the city centre has to offer, situated about a 20-minute walk away. Or why not explore one of the many other independent pubs here in the Ouseburn?
Tours are available for groups of up to 12 people, Wednesdays to Sundays, between 2pm and 5pm.
