Time: 12.30 - 4.30pm

About: Lucy will teach you contemporary embroidery techniques used specifically for hoop art - an easy to learn, quick and experimental way to embroider.
This workshop will offer extra time and space for Lucy to help you individually, whether you're a complete beginner or have had sewing experience before, she will be on hand to advise and leave you confident to embroider independently at home.
Ticket includes all the materials: fabric, threads, design stencils, an embroidery hoop and needle, as well as instructional sheets and access to video tutorials so you can continue to learn more after the workshop. You get to keep all the materials so that you can keep embroidering at home afterwards!
Lucy is an experimental textile artist based in Edinburgh. She takes a modern look at embroidery, using large textured stitches in a bold painterly style. Her wall hangings and framed embroideries celebrate the beauty of the natural world and are always full of vibrant colours. As well as creating artwork Lucy has years of experience teaching workshops across the UK and designs embroidery kits for John Lewis and Liberty. She is passionate about helping others discover the joy of embroidery!
