Animals are Lois Sykes' muses. Her subjects are very much her own; imbued with a particular energy and an off-beat, quietly dark, humour.
Lois' art recognises that our relationship with animals is changing and that they have become even more important to our well-being. Her idiosyncratic works give them a voice, expressing through her art, ideas that words are unable to capture.
Trained as a figurative artist in Philadelphia Lois studied abstract painting with Henri Goetz in Paris and Icon making in London with Lilly Corbett. Her work can be found in many private collections in America, Europe and the UK.
