Judy Clarkson

Judy Clarkson was born in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. She studied Art Foundation at Harrogate College of Art before moving to London to study at St Martin's. She graduated in 1987 with a BA in Fine Art. She has experimented with various creative forms such as literary fiction and short film making, but life drawing has been a consistent thread in her life.

Over the last 15 years, Judy has made a successful return to painting in oils, basing her work around the human figure. In 2018, she won the Holly Bush Emerging Woman Painter Prize. She has also been shortlisted for the 2019 John Ruskin Prize and exhibited in numerous venues including the Mall Galleries and JD Malat Gallery. She currently lives in Tottenham, London with her family and works in a studio nearby.
