Joseph Venning is a contemporary painter who specialises in both large-scale wall mural commissions for business, schools, domestic and public spaces and also more visually challenging, experimental, conceptual painting. He has recently completed a series of canvasses and murals for Liverpool’s iconic Liver building. Last summer, he worked with Manchester United and the event ‘Bee in the City’. He painted two giant Bee sculptures for public display at Old Trafford stadium and outside the Innside Manchester Hotel.
Joseph began his career at Chelsea college of art in London. He officially trained as a sculptor and produced experimental multi-media installations before turning his attention solely to painting. He has continued to produce experimental artwork throughout his career but rarely shows it, however it is this branch of Joseph’s work that has been gaining attention recently.
Joseph’s work has been purchased by members of parliament, hung in the restaurants of Michelin star celebrity chefs, blessed by bishops, shipped to private collections throughout the world and admired by rock stars, footballers, and school children alike.
