Imogene is a self taught artist working from her home studio in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Her work is centered around her admiration for animals and the complex lives they lead. Through high levels of detail, a focus on contrast, and exciting colour palettes, she captures her subjects in the more intimate moments of their lives.
“I want to explore what makes the lives of animals both similar and opposite to our own experiences. How do their days and emotions mirror ours? How do their idiosyncrasies define them? Can a viewer relate to my subjects or will they find a world they cannot hope to comprehend? I am fascinated by the trials that animals experience, and how we recognise our own behaviours within them.”
