Part of the New Light Prize Exhibition 2020

Georgie Clough is a 21-year-old Cumbrian artist specialising in realistic drawings and sculptures. Her entire life she’s had an affinity for art and making and at the age of 14 she won the One Show Summer Art Competition for the 13-17 year old category. This success led to being exhibited in the Royal Academy of Arts in London, as well as her local gallery, Tullie House.

Georgie went on to study Modelmaking at the Arts University Bournemouth, focusing on sculpting, moulding and casting, while continuing to draw and paint her own pieces and commissions on the side. Carr’s Water Biscuits showcases a world famous product manufactured in Carlisle. Having just graduated, especially in these uncertain times, being shortlisted for the New Light Prize has been a welcome confidence boost to start her artistic career.
