Mark your calendars! This November, The Biscuit Factory is excited to open its doors for the highly anticipated Ouseburn Open Studios, a weekend celebration of art, creativity, and craftsmanship. On Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 November, from 10 AM to 5 PM, join us to explore our gallery, meet talented local artists, and immerse yourself in live demonstrations and activities.
Throughout the weekend, we’ll be hosting a series of live demonstrations from a variety of talented artists. Whether you’re an aspiring creator or just curious, you’ll have the chance to witness artistic processes firsthand. Here’s what you can expect:
Saturday & Sunday | 11 AM – 2 PM
Textile artist Ailish Henderson will showcase her intricate hand stitching embroidery techniques. Watch as she brings detailed, delicate designs to life, and get a chance to learn more about her creative process.
Saturday & Sunday | 11 AM – 5 PM
Join Dan Cimmermann as he paints live in the gallery throughout the weekend. Known for his bold, expressive brushwork and dynamic use of color, Dan’s live painting session promises to be a highlight of the weekend.
You can also meet local artists Donna Cheshire, Angela Reed and poet Lewis Brown who'll be joing us that weekend for creative demonstrations.
As part of your visit, don’t miss the opportunity to preview our Winter Headline Exhibition, 'All Shall Be Well' by Deborah Grice. This solo exhibition, opening officially on 23 November, features atmospheric landscapes in oil and charcoal, drawing inspiration from the philosophy and aesthetics of the 19th-century Romantics. Expect a stunning juxtaposition of serene landscapes with subtly provocative graphic forms, all designed to evoke a sense of wonder and contemplation.
