Early Summer | Our Makers

Published 22 May 2026

We're delighted to introduce our Early Summer artists: Jo Sharpe, Kathryn Williams, Dan Cimmermann, Fiona Sturrock, Henrietta Corbett, Chris Forsey & Louise Edwards.

Jo Sharpe

South London based artist Jo Sharpe presents a series of still lives and landscapes. Informed by the language of folk art with its honest forms and enduring connection to place, brushstrokes echo the rhythm of hand-stitching; colour palettes are drawn from hedgerows, chalk paths and sun-warmed earth. Rooted in craft and shaped by the hand, these works celebrate the textures of early summer and the rituals of home. They are a study in restraint and reverence: objects and nature observed slowly, painted thoughtfully, and offered as quiet companions for everyday life. See Jo’s collection here.

Kathryn Williams

Kathryn Williams is a Mercury Music Prize nominated folk singer and songwriter, novelist, podcaster and artist. For her first solo exhibition in the North East ‘Striking Image’, Kathryn presents a selection of tiny portrait paintings. These small works echo the tradition and fashion for painted miniatures observed in the court of Henry VIII and Francis I in the 1500’s. See Kathryn’s collection here.

Dan Cimmermann

For his latest collection, emerging British artist Dan Cimmermann presents a collection of still life works. See Dan’s collection here.

Fiona Sturrock

Painter Fiona Sturrock presents a series of floral still lives in latest body of work. Fiona is inspired by historical colourists and impressionists, focusing on the use of colour, light, shade and texture to create bold, expressive representations of her subjects. See Fiona’s collection here.

Henrietta Corbett

Ceramicist, painter and printmaker Henrietta Corbett presents a striking collection of carborundum prints, featuring her distinctive interpretations of animals, insects and the natural world. See Henrietta’s collection here.

Chris Forsey

An original painting of Holy Island off the Northumberland coastline by artist Chris Forsey

Self-taught artist Chris Forsey works across watercolour, acrylic and mixed media, creating evocative paintings inspired by local coastlines. Explore his latest collection of coastal scenes here.

Louise Edwards

Louise Edwards is a printmaker based in the North Staffordshire countryside, creating nature-inspired lino prints from her cottage studio. Her work reflects a deep connection to the British landscape, drawing on hedgerows, wild plants and seasonal change for inspiration. You can see Louise’s collection in the gallery.
