“I’ve had my eye on a few paintings by Dan Cimmermann, an emerging artist who takes inspiration from the world of street art and his time living in Japan. I’ve just put an offer in on my first house and his painting ‘Miso Soup & a Beer’ would make a dreamy addition to my potential kitchen! His work is so cool & energetic, the vibrant colour palettes & frenetic brushstrokes catch my eye every time I walk past his latest collection in the gallery.

The opportunity to split payments into more manageable chunks and the ease of the own art process makes dreams of living with exciting art a much more affordable reality. Dan also delivers workshops at The Biscuit Factory so I know him personally and I think supporting hard-working local creatives is absolutely vital!”

“As a longstanding fan of Sarah’s printmaking, I anticipated our first exhibition of her paintings with great excitement – just as I had her prints when we began showing those a few years earlier.

When the paintings finally arrived it was wonderful to see her wide-eyed vision of the world on a larger scale. This one in particular caught my eye, and embodies that expansive worldview of hers; that recognisable sensibility from her prints where a rain storm is elemental yet also somehow something intimate to cosy up to and enjoy the comfort of enduring.

Here, the infinite sky and uncountable stars make the figures a tiny, awed and weightless audience to them, yet also the huddled heart of the centre of the cosmos – the abiding wonder of gazing heavenly on a summer night when the light remains endless.”

Sam K, Curator, chooses ‘Posing with Pencils’ by Alex Pascual

“Alex is a young artist originally from Barcelona and now living in Copenhagen. I love his colourful and sensitive pencil drawings of the human figure.

To my mind the angularity and fragility of the poses and characters he depicts have similarities with the drawings of Schiele and Klimt albeit with a more joyous use of colour.

Alex is one of my favourite artists currently exhibiting at the gallery and I am excited to see what comes from his studio next.”
