Born in Toronto, Canada, Mychael Barratt is a narrative artist and cartographer based in London, where he has lived for over thirty years. He works across a wide range of printmaking techniques and has had a long career producing original prints. Mychael served as President of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, during which time he curated international exhibitions and helped establish two annual open submission shows at Bankside Gallery: the National Original Print Exhibition and The Masters. He has been an artist in residence at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and a commissioned artist for Liberty of London. In 2012 he completed a large-scale public mural on the Mile End Road celebrating local history and architecture. Mychael is also the author of three books on printmaking, art and London, published by A & C Black and Unicorn Publishing.
