Matilda Press is a contemporary jewellery designer based in Scotland, creating work inspired by the tension between the man-made and natural world.
Matilda graduated with First Class Honours from the University of Dundee in 2024. She has since shown in several galleries and exhibitions. Her work explores artificial and natural light, and how man-made illumination can be beautiful and comforting, yet can hide the blanket of starlight above us. Using sterling silver wire and gemstones, she creates geometric and organic forms that mimic light patterns. Structures capture and partially conceal gemstone “stars”, containing them in space between wires.
