Born in 1962, Marissa Weatherhead is a painter known for her colourful still life paintings and imagined tablescapes featuring seafood, fruit, flowers and wine. Her work is influenced by artists such as Picasso and Matisse and uses bold, joyful colour to evoke memory, celebration and a sense of anticipation. Marissa studied Fine Art at the Gloucestershire College of Art and Design, graduating with a First Class BA (Hons), and completed an MA in Painting at the Royal College of Art, London. She has exhibited internationally, and a commissioned work is held in the Guildhall at London’s Barbican.
