Born in 1973, Kevin Day is an accomplished painter based in North East England, known for his evocative depictions of local life. For over 20 years, he has worked as a full-time artist, specialising in atmospheric oil paintings that capture both landscapes and urban scenes. Painting largely en plein air, he works on location, skilfully conveying the light, movement, and character of places, with a particular focus on Newcastle city centre. His passion for art was ignited early on by his grandfather’s wartime watercolours, and he continues to draw inspiration from observing and documenting the world around him.
