Born in Sussex in 1961, Kate Boxer is an artist and printmaker known for her playful, irreverent style and sure sense of line. Kate began her artistic career in the early 1990s, taking classes at London art schools. She has exhibited in galleries and at art fairs since 1994, winning the National print exhibition Arcturus prize in 1997. Working with oil pastels, gouache, drypoint etching and collage, her paintings and drawings are a whimsical and insightful exploration of both human and animal worlds. Her subjects span iconic historical and fictional figures such as Queen Victoria, Guy Fawkes, Dick Turpin, and Don Quixote, alongside wild creatures, dogs, and birds.
