Born in the North East of England, Angela Edwards is an artist with a background in illustration and design. She worked in design and publishing in London for many years, with clients including Wedgwood, Disney and Penguin Books. Her work has included redesigning and illustrating the classic Beatrix Potter: Peter Rabbit and Friends characters, as well as creating artwork for ITV’s award-winning detective series Vera. Since returning to Northumberland and working as a full-time painter, Angela draws inspiration from the surrounding coastline and countryside. Her paintings explore landscape through colour, texture and form, using acrylic and oil paint applied in layered, impasto techniques to create expressive, abstracted interpretations of the natural environment.
