Summer Exhibition
11th June – 31st August
Mike Bell’s esoteric landscapes are on show in the Cube Gallery. We showcase the works of artists including Clifford Blakey, Simon Gilpin, Moira Hazel and Basia Roszak. We bring a new body of work by artists including painters Dan Bennett, Rob Shaw, Kate Van Suddese and ceramicist Paul Smith.
Glass Twenty Ten
11th June – 31st August
The Biscuit Factory is delighted to showcase this exhibition of the work of some of the UK’s leading glassmakers. Participating artists are Peter Layton, Anthony Sterne, Jane Charles, Lindean Mill Glass, Graham Muir, Gavin Marshall and Gillies Jones.
Midsummer Supper Party
25th June 7.30pm – 10.30pm
Don’t miss this wonderful evening organized by the Gosforth Lifeboat Guild. Painter Kate van Suddese has kindly donated two of her works to be put in a silent auction for the night. Tickets £20. Admission by ticket only. All proceeds go to the RNLI.
Postgraduate Glass & Ceramics
University of Sunderland
15th July – 29th July
The eagerly awaited University of Sunderland Postgraduate Glass and Ceramics exhibition celebrates its ninth year at The Biscuit Factory Gallery. The annual end of year exhibition is a chance for the public, galleries and collectors to spot new talent from the acclaimed Glass and Ceramics Department based in the national Glass Centre. The official opening evening will be the 22nd July.
Steve Mayes, Architecture of the North East
11th June – 13th July
Steve Mayes is one of the North East’s leading architectural and landscape photographers. He has been living in and photographing the North east for 10 years, and this exhibition showcases his work capturing the essence of the region’s architecture. This exhibition is part of the 2010 North East festival of Architecture.
sceNE in Northumberland National Parke

sceNE in Northumberland National Park features of some of the North East’s most awe-inspiring sights, by three of the region’s most passionate photographers of the outdoors: Roger Clegg, Simon Fraser and Allan Potts.
Ceramic Connexions
11th June – 31st August
This exhibition will provide an opportunity to view the work of three final year students, Meryl Lusher, Elaine Dixon and Maureen Nelson, alongside the work of a selection of established ceramicists who have been connected, in varying degrees, to the students’ journey.
‘Amor Y Luz’ (Love and Light)
11th June – 12th July
This multi discipline exhibition has been curated to celebrate the biennial VAMOS! Festival. This year we showcase works by 5 very different artists who all have their roots in Latin America: Vera Hynes, Jackie Brazil, Patricia Gurgel-Segrillo, Adriana Ghio Rosales and Jazmin Velasco. You are invited to join us on 5th July for a special event during the festival.
Air 10
23’rd August – 7th September
Air 10 showcases a selection of work by 6 designers/makers based at Glasgow School of Art. They are touring the country with their jewellery and 3D work. Featuring work by Jennifer Gray, Soizig Marie Carey, Victoria Marie Coleman, Amy C Mackay, Jan Rooney and Lauren Elizabeth Wethers.
The Art of Afternoon Tea
1st October – 11th October
To celebrate the launch of Byker Vista Café’s new afternoon tea selection we have the pleasure of inviting you to experience the Art of Afternoon Tea. See how to dress your own afternoon tea table with inspiring accessories and create the right mood with themed prints and funky accessories. Work on show will include new tea sets by Timea Sidoand Gerald Davis,Virginia Grahamand Julia Roxburgh alongside vintage style cake stands by Nia Roberts and complete with knitted cakes.

General Gallery Information
You'll find an exciting range of work for sale at The Biscuit Factory from over a hundred artists. The rolling programme of displays change constantly as pieces are sold and replaced with new original work.
In addition to this we have a Gallery Opening every three months where we showcase work from some of our best new and existing artists. These openings have become extremely popular with around 1,000 of our customers attending and enjoying meeting up with friends over a glass of bubbly and enjoying the opportunity to meet and discuss work directly with some of our artists. Programmed Exhibitions
The majority of the space at The Biscuit Factory is not exhibition-led but has ongoing displays which are changing all the time. However, we will be using some of the space to bring in and create key exhibitions which will be in place for longer periods of time.
