Biography
“As a painter I am concerned with colour and tone, light and shade, line and edges and form and shape. I am interested in structure and movement, image and ambience, opacity and translucence. I take into account scale and viewpoint and my interests also include texture and marks, surface and depth, the sharp and the indistinct, the precise and the accidental. Five of the paintings I am showing are recent but three are from earlier times. All of them, however, contain maritime references. There are works of mine in various public collections including those of Buckinghamshire County Museum, The Open University, Milton Keynes General Hospital, Milton Keynes Borough Council, The Government Art Collection and Stockport Art Gallery.”
