Gordon Wilson is one of Scotland’s most exciting contemporary artists. He was born in 1968 and grew up in Glasgow where he is now based. He studied at The Glasgow School of Art and has worked in the art industry for many years as a designer, picture framer, art dealer and artist.
Gordon’s subject matter ranges from quirky portraiture to emotive landscapes and his deep love of the west coast of Scotland shines through in his work. Gordon paints from the heart, his expressive oil paintings reflect the ever changing moods of both the countryside and the artist himself. Gordon's paintings are highly decorative with rich colours and patterns formed from ornate field systems and wild flowers. Evocative scenes of rural cottages on coastal margins with fresh washing blowing on the line capture his love of the Scottish west coast.
Demand for Gordon’s colourful art works continues to grow. Today his work can be found in corporate and private collections throughout the world. Gordon exhibits in leading art galleries throughout the UK. He has participated in several solo exhibitions and numerous group exhibitions including The Royal Glasgow Institute (RGI) and The Paisley Arts Institute.
