"My interest in photography developed when I moved to Newcastle in 2000, and in large part was stimulated by the new environment in which I found myself. Since then I have continued to develop my photography and my style, while simultaneously building up a reputation as a photographer.
The motivation behind my photography is based on two different aspects: a love for the architecture, buildings and cityscapes of the North East region, and a fascination with the shapes and patterns that they incorporate.
I produce images entirely in black and white because it brings out much more effectively the patterns and shapes of a scene. In a city of water and bridges, black and white photography works particularly well at night, and I find that many of my most popular images are those taken when the sun has gone down."
