
The Biscuit Factory is proud to present The Biscuit Factory Foundation, a charity with the aims of nurturing and developing the practice and appreciation of the visual arts in the North East. That is to provide a professional platform for new and emerging artists to develop their artistic practice in addition to presenting opportunities for the wider public to engage with cultural events and activities.

To present further opportunities for emerging artists in the North East the Foundation launches Young Artists of the Year 2011 competition and exhibition in association with The Journal’s Culture Magazine, sponsored by Winsor & Newton and Blackwell’s and supported by regional graduate retention scheme Archigrad. In 2010 in partnership with The Methodist Church The Biscuit Factory developed The Holy Biscuit; a cultural hub for the community that works collaboratively with professional partners, regional & national organisations, charities, universities, schools and artists to present a full and varied programme of exhibitions and events. The Holy Biscuit is available for hire.
